Annabelle: Creation

Plot

You know that fear some people have? The one where they’re afraid of lifelike China dolls? Yeah – if you watch this movie at night by yourself, you’ll develop that fear. It’s officially called Pediophobia (just so you can tell people what the movie gave you).

Annabelle: Creation is the sequel to the first ripper released in 2014. It was a major success in the box office, pulling in more than $255 million world wide. As such, a second was quick to come into play.

In this story, a dollmaker and his wife warmly welcome a nun and a few orphans into their home. But little do they know, there’s another visitor coming along as well. And this one isn’t anything like a nun.

Fancy a few screams? This is the one for you. Don’t scream at the ticket price, though. See if there’s any movie deals or coupons in your area before buying.

The Glass Castle

Plot

Normally, we head to IMDB to check out what the movie is about. With The Glass Castle, however, we left more confused than we entered. Here’s what they said:

A young girl comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads with a mother who’s an eccentric artist and an alcoholic father who would stir the children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.

Anything? Yeah – it’s a bit confusing.

All we know is that it’s based off this book going by the same name and it now has an all star cast presenting the film adaption.

No movie week is complete without something for the kids. But hey, it’s not exclusively for the kids. Animations are for everyone! Let your dreams run wild.

The Nut Job 2, as you can guess is a sequel to the first (released in 2014). Similar to Annabelle above, it had great success in the box office, hence the creation of a second.

This time, Surly and his friends face a critical battle to stop their home being destroyed. In place, the mayor of Oakton City wants to develop an amusement park. They must fight for their home.

Ingrid Goes West

Plot

It’s 2017 – and the year wouldn’t be complete without a movie depicting the rise of social media and how it’s engulfed many of our lives.

Ingrid Goes West tells the tale of a young woman (Aubrey Plaza), taking up the hobby of social media stalking. An act many of us unconsciously undertake, but one we dare never to admit.

She moves to LA and wiggles her way into the ‘envious’ life of an Instagram babe.

The Only Living Boy in New York

Plot

Unfortunately, no, the movie isn’t a post-apocalyptic scenario where there really is only a single boy left living in New York. Damn you cheeky title!

Rather, The Only Boy Living in New York showcases the life of a recent college graduate, and how his world comes tumbling down around him upon the discovery of his father’s mistress.

A unique cast including Kate Beckinsale, Jeff Bridges, and Pierce Brosman will be telling the tale for you.
