This week, this is the week for awesome movies.

Huge range of genres to choose from – a couple of romantic comedies, a sniper/war film, relaxing romance, and we can’t leave out some action/adventure.

A big weekend coming up for new movies at the box office. Many are backing King Arthur to clear house with the vast majority of ticket purchases.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

King Arthur Legend of the Sword

Plot

May just be one of the most hyped movies this year, but for good reason! Over $103 million has been put behind this work of art, and we’re quite confident many people will be willing to part with their money to witness it. Guy Ritchie, the director, shall be remembered again for another sensational flick. If you don’t know Guy Ritchie, here’s some more he’s been behind:

  • Snatch (2000)
  • Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
  • RocknRolla (2008)
  • The Man from U.N.C.L.E (2015)
  • Sherlock Holmes (2009)
  • Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011)

That’s one damn fine resume.

Once you watch the trailer, you’ll know what we mean when we say this is going to be one of the most epic movies released this year. Wow! King Arthur truly has something for everyone in it. Awesome action, unbelievably effects, great story, and we can’t leave out, of course, the astonishingly fantastic acting. Charlie Hunnam, take a bow my friend.

Raised on the streets. Born to be king.

King Arthur has been filmed all across the United Kingdom and is now set for a worldwide release from the 10th – 12th May 2017. Words couldn’t compete with the trailer, so instead of writing a text plot, watch it.

We’re quite confident AMC will be selling many tickets for this one over the next few weeks.

Snatched

Snatched

Plot

Classed as an Action/Comedy by IMDB, Amy Schumer stars in one of her first full production feature length films – Snatched. The movie follows Amy, who plays a character called Emily, as she breaks up with her boyfriend and decides to take a trip to South America with her mother seeking a wild adventure. And they get just that.

Snatched hasn’t been released to any film festivals (we’re not surprised), so there aren’t any reviews available yet. But we’re pretty confident it will struggle to make its way past the half way rating mark.

The film is set for quite an extended release period, ranging from May 11th in Australia to August 25th in Bulgaria. As you now know, it hits the big screens in the USA on 12th May 2017.

We did the math, this is the most disliked movies we’ve ever discussed, according to the likes/dislikes on the trailer. One comment from Youtube, which more than 400 people agreed with, stated the following:

I actually have a sense of humor so I’m gonna pass on this one

Another said:

That like to dislike ratio makes me so happy.

Not many Amy Schumer fans around there at the moment!

Lowriders

Lowriders

Plot

Walking the line of the classic lowrider LA scene and the wrong side of the law is a young street artist caught between his father’s pride in his work and his ex-felon brother’s need to express himself.

If you’re into cars, hydraulics, and street culture in Southern California, you’ll definitely want to be giving this one a go. Lowriders has actually been ready to hit the screens for nearly a year now, having first premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 1st, 2016.

Even more surprising, the movie was released last month in April over in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Quite odd considering the fact one of the films main attributes is the LA street culture.

Catch the trailer, and you may notice a familiar face pop up. Theo Rossi, the fella who played Juice in Sons of Anarchy plays the ex-felon brother in an excellent supporting role.

Paris Can Wait

Paris Can Wait

Plot

Feel like a bit of downtime? Head to the movies this weekend and check this one out. Paris Can Wait is a truly relaxing movie, some may say it’s even half a documentary.

Follow along as a pair end up driving to Paris, but not without more than a few detours and scenic stops along the way. You’ll be taking in the French countryside, indulging in some of the finest French cuisines, and bearing witness to extraordinary culture.

Paris Can Wait first hit the big screens over at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September 2016 and is now set for an official public release in America on the 12th May 2017.

If you’re thinking about watching the film just for Alec Baldwin, don’t, he only plays a small supporting character in the flick.

The Wall

The Wall

Plot

A breath of fresh air coming to the genre of sniper movies. Two soldiers pinned down in an open position by an enemy sniper. Nowhere to go, nowhere to run – and they have an open line of communication to each other. Intensely suspenseful, The Wall will keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole 81 minutes.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who you might know from Kick-Ass, along with John Cena, who you just know, take on the roles of the two American snipers, and they do a damn fine job of it.

The Wall is Amazon Studios first ever original script it’s bought for a feature length film. Amazon has produced the film in partnership with Big India Picture and Picrow.

It hits the screens for the first time ever on 12th May 2017 in the United States. Our friends down under will have to wait until early August to catch the film.

The Wedding Plan

The Wedding Plan

Plot

What would you do if you were set on getting married, had a date planned out, then your husband lays down the following – “I don’t love you anymore”. If you answered find another random man in 30 days and marry him, you would’ve been perfect for this movie!

The Wedding Plan follows the story of an Orthodox Jew who wholeheartedly believes God will find her a husband within the considerably short time frame of 30 days. Will she find one? That is the question! (Hopefully the movie answers it, we don’t actually know..)

It was first shown at the Venice Film Festival in September 2016 as well as the Telluride Film Festival in California soon after. It’s now set for an official release to the public screens on May 12th, 2017.

The Israeli Film Academy seemed quite fond of the movie, awarding it three titles including Best Actress, Best Screenplay, and Best Costume Design. That’s not all, it’s also been nominated for another six.

You’re going to have to be OK with subtitles as the whole film has been shot in Hebrew.
