1. Furious Seven (2015)

The seventh installment in the highly popular Fast and the Furious movie franchise, this movie stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Gibson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, and the late Paul Walker. This is the most successful of the series as it had a total worldwide gross of more than $1.5 billion. Gibson reprises his role as Roman Pierce, a mechanic who belongs to the team of Vin Diesel’s character and a childhood friend of the character portrayed by Walker.

2. Fast Five (2011)

Gibson returns to the movie franchise in this movie, after he had appeared in the second installment of The Fast and the Furious. As most of the films in the series, Fast Five was a huge hit earning more than $600 million at the tills. It was also the first movie where Dwayne Johnson appeared in the series.

Gibson was also shooting another movie. Transformers: Dark of the Moon, when he committed to this project. Thus he had to shuttle back and forth from Puerto Rico to Atlanta to accommodate both projects.

3. Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

The success of Fast Five made the producers doubly excited for the sixth installment, as the movie franchise had experienced a rebirth of sorts. They were right, as the sixth movie was able to rake in more than $700 million at the box office.

4. Transformers (2007)

The first movie in the highly successful film franchise about the struggle between two alien races—the Autobots and the Decepticons— this was a smashing hit at the box office as it earned more than $700 million. It was directed by Michael Bay with Steven Spielberg serving as executive producer. The movie stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, and John Voight. Gibson is one of the members of the US Air Force Tech tasked to fight off the aliens.

5. Four Brothers (2005)

Gibson appears in this movie directed by John Singleton with Mark Wahlberg, Garrett Hedlund and fellow music artist Andre 3000. The plot is loosely based on the 1965 flick. The Sons of Katie Elder. It was a mild hit at the box office, earning around $90 million on a $45 million production budget.

6. Death Race (2008)

Gibson appears in this sci-fi action thriller where he plays the role of a driver engaged in the world’s most popular sport car—car racing. The difference however is that the drivers are inmates who must brutalize and kill each other on the road to victory. This movie which also stars Jason Statham earned $75 million with a production budget of around $45 million.

7. Baby Boy (2001)

This was the acting debut of Gibson, who was fresh off a hit music album titled 2000 Watts. This coming-of-age urban comedy/light drama film also stars another music artist, Snoop Dogg. It tackled the story of young African Americans who are irresponsible to father babies, live off their mothers and not even think of getting work. The film was quite a disappointment at the box office however as it only earned $29 million.

8. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)

This is the third installment in the highly successful movie franchise. The story revolves around a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the moon, which the Autobots have to get before the Decepticons use it to get back to their mother planet.

This was the last movie which LaBeouf and Gibson starred in, as the film franchise was rebooted in 2014. Like all the four movies of the Transformers series, it was a huge hit worldwide as it took in more than $1.1 billion.

9. Flight of the Phoenix (2004)

This survival drama is a remake of a 1965 film of the same title. It is about a crew of aircraft crash survivors who must build a new aircraft out of the old one to fly away from the Gobi Desert. It also stars Dennis Quiad and Giovanni Ribisi. This was a box-office failure as it only took in $34 million despite having a $45 million production budget.

10. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

The sequel to the monster 2007 hit, Revenge of the Fallen earned mixed reviews from critics who slammed its predictable storyline. However, like most of the Tyrese Gibson movies it performed well at the box office as it earned more than $800 million with a production budget of $200 million. It was directed by Michael Bay, with stars like LeBeouf and Fox reprising their roles.
